Keeper chasing down OReilly

17 Jul 2013

Already 2013 Champion Hong Kong Sire for Wins, closer to home Cambridge Stud stallion Keeper is now only 7 wins adrift of O’Reilly to top the New Zealand Stallion Premiership for individual winners.

Yesterday’s win by the Glenn Old-trained Imagunakepa (Keeper ex Monecata) at Gate Pa took her sire’s individual tally for 2012-2013 to 62.  Keeper is now not only second on the Premiership for Winners, but second also for Wins (89) and fifth on the overall General List (earnings).

Keeper has had five individual black type winners in New Zealand alone this season and the Group One-winning son of Danehill has been prominent on the domestic premiership since the season began 01 August.

The stock of Keeper sold up to $205,000 at this year’s New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Premier Sale, with the average price being $108,500 (10 sold).

Keeper’s service fee for 2013 has been set at $12,500 + gst (live foal guarantee) and is one of six stallions on the Cambridge Stud roster.  Cambridge Stud has a public parade of it’s stallions scheduled for Sunday, 11 August at 1.30pm.
