Kroner Has Star Quality

6 Jun 2009

The
Viking Ruler four-year-old Kroner looked every bit a Group One horse in the making when winning the Listed June Stakes at Royal Randwick yesterday, (6.6.09)

It was his fourth win from his last five outings and second at Listed Race level, having won the Hall Mark Stakes on the same track during the Sydney Autumn Carnival.

Kroner, settled well back in the running, had to change course to find racing room in the home straight but was still too good, winning with authority.

Kroner is prepared by Bart Cummings who will no doubt be looking to more ambitious options for the half-brother to the Australian Derby winner, Headturner.

The Kroner win was part of a double act for his sire
Viking Ruler
yesterday, with Court Ruler providing the sire with his first Group One winner in taking out the BMW Queensland Derby for trainer John Wheeler.
