Laffalong too strong at Cranbourne8 Jan 2021

Promising mare Laffalong has continued her quick progression in Victoria with the second success of her fledgling career.

Our four-year-old mare was a debut winner in the spring and had subsequently placed twice.

At Cranbourne last night, Laffalong made light of her 59.5kg impost over 1600 metres for a convincing win in the hands of Michael Walker.

She is prepared at Ballarat by Nigel Blackiston and his patient handling looks sure to reap further rewards.

Laffalong was a AU$260,000 Inglis Easter Yearling Sale purchase and didn't make it to the races until she was four due to a paddock injury as a yearling. Her long rehabilitation was overseen by our stud and racing staff in New Zealand.

She is a daughter of Zabeel mare Smiles for Layla, a sibling to Karaka Million winner Xiong Feng and the G2 Light Fingers S. winner Adrift.
