Norse Affair became the latest successful representative for Cambridge Stud sire
Viking Ruler when she broke through for her first victory at Friday's Counties Racing Club meeting at Pukekohe.
The three-year-old filly (ex Strawberry Affair) scored a one-length victory over regally bred Sun Ruler (Zabeel x Sunline) in the Auckland 24-Hour Glass Maiden (2000m).
She is trained at Ruakaka by Dean and Donna Logan who train in partnership with Chris Gibbs. The successful rider was James MacDonald.
Norse Affair is closely related to the Group 2 Gasmate Stakes winner Focal Point, who was also trained by the Logans.
Viking Ruler (Danehill x Tristalove) is now the sire of 44 individual winners. His progeny include the stakes winners Red Ruler and Court Ruler as well as the stakes performers Pretty Vegas, Fast Ruler, Tief, Measurement, Romany Princess and Powerful Ruler.
