The connections of former brilliant filly Katie Lee turned back the clock when her daughter Legramor burst through to take the $22,500 Shaun Cosgrave - Harcourts (Rating 65) over 1200m on Friday.

Having his first race-day ride on the daughter that won him the NZ 1000–2000 Guineas double, champion jockey Opie Bosson combined with the same owners Lady Justine and Sir Patrick Hogan and trainers Graeme and Debbie Rogerson.

Settling the daughter of Commands handy about fifth in the 14-horse field, Bosson brought his mount in striking distance upon straightening.

Ambitious Winner hit the front soon after turning for home and looked the winner until Legramor in the familiar dark green with light green spots colours, charged home one off the rail to hit the front at the 100m mark and win by a long neck.

Legramor’s winning time was 1:12.02 (last 600m in 35.02) on a Dead6 track.

“It was a good solid win. The filly is very special to me. I trained her mother and she did big things for me,” co-trainer Debbie Rogerson said.

“She’s very like her mum, another special filly. The tempo didn’t suit at her last start but it was a good trip away for her, so I was pretty confident today. She will go to another grade race and then we will sit down with Sir Patrick and look at Sydney in the autumn. I think she’s well above average.”
