Lucky Unicorn has runners in Gr.1 & Gr.3 features

Members of Lucky Unicorn’s first crop will contest the Telecom New Zealand Derby-Gr.1 and Lowland Stakes-Gr.3, respectively, this weekend.




 



Red Shift (Lucky Unicorn ex Scarlet Queen, by Fasliyev) steps out in the $750,000 Derby at Ellerslie on Saturday while Capital Diamond (Lucky Unicorn ex Diamond Smile, by Zabeel) looks set to start favourite in the $70,000 Lowland at Hastings.




 



Red Shift was bred by Kevin Hickman and carries the well-known colours of OTI Racing.
  The trainer is Regan Donnison who has so far produced the gelding for 2 wins and 4 placings from 9 starts.




 



Capital Diamond was bred by Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan who race the filly in conjunction with the Capital Diamond Syndicate which is managed by Phil Cataldo.  Lisa Latta is the trainer.
