Mongolian Marshal opened his Australian account in style with a tenacious victory in the Kyneton Cup.

The Cambridge Stud graduate’s success was not unexpected as he had previously finished a strong fourth in the Coongy Handicap.

Trained by Stuart Gower at Morphettville, Mongolian Marshal began his career with Murray Baker and Andrew Forsman in New Zealand following his sale to Rider Horse NZ at Karaka in 2016.

He won five races for them, including the G3 Waikato Cup and was third in the G1 Windsor Park Plate.

Mongolian Marshal is a son of the winning Dehere mare Ardeche, a member of the legendary Eight Carat family.

In foal to Dundeel, she is also the dam of the multiple winner Chairman’s List.
