ZABEEL 4 yr-old gelding,
EFFICIENT, (Zabeel-Refused the Dance(NZ)(Defensive Play), pictured below defeating Purple Moon, has taken out the 2007 Melbourne Cup in fine style.
Ridden by Michael Rodd, the Graeme Rogerson trained gelding came from mid field to sweep past Purple Moon and Mahler at the post.
The 2006 Victoria Derby winner has earned over $1.1 million in stakes prior to today.
Efficient was bred by Cambridge Hunt Ltd and sold at the 2005 New Zealand Bloodstock Premier Yearling Sales at Karaka by Curraghmore Stud to Rogerson Bloodstock for NZD$220,000.
