Metro Legend’s purple patch continues

Metro Legend’s purple patch continues10 Jun 2023

The well-related Metro Legend has continued his hot run of form this preparation with further success over 1250 metres at Morphettville Parks.

The Redoute’s Choice five-year-old has now collected a brace of wins and six placings from his last eight appearances for Gawler trainer and part-owner Aaron Bain.

We bred Metro Legend in partnership with Mornington-based horseman David Brideoake and he topped our draft at Karaka in 2019 when he was knocked down for $800,000 to Aquis and agent James Bester.

He initially raced as Cadanabbia and won for Chris Waller before Annabel Neasham paid A$135,000 for the gelding during the 2021 Inglis Digital July Sale. Bain subsequently secured the horse for A$55,000 at last year’s Inglis Digital February Sale.

The now Metro Legend is the first foal of the G1 Galaxy Handicap winner Griante and she is out of a half-sister to the G1 WATC Derby winner Grand Journey and the stakes winner Proliferate.

The pedigree also features the G1 Stradbroke Handicap winner River Lad and the G3 Tesio Stakes winner Joy Of Flight.
