Mick Price unleashes Tavistock 3YO

26 Aug 2015

Trainer Mick Price looks to have a very promising three-year-old on his hands judging by the winning Maiden effort of Tarzino at Ballarat today over 1400m.

From the second crop of Tavistock and a son of the Zabeel mare Zarzino, the colt was trapped wide for much of the running before producing a sustained effort in the straight to get the honours.

Bred by Sir Patrick and Justine, Lady Hogan, Tarzino was sold by Cambridge Stud at the 2014 Karaka Select Sale.  The buyer, at $45,000, was Rick Connelly.

There are two prominent Group One winners in this family, namely Sky Chase (Star Way) and Kindacross (Cape Cross).
