New Australian stakes-performer for Tavistock

18 Oct 2014

Imperial Lass (Tavistock ex Tricia Ann, by Zabeel) became the sixth individual stakes-performer for her sire when producing a bold effort for third in yesterday's Listed New Zealand Bloodstock Ethereal Stakes (2000m) at Caulfield.

Another of the now first crop three-year-olds by Tavistock, Imperial Lass joins the following horses who have picked up black type to date...

* Volkstok'n'barrell (ARC Bonecrusher Stakes-Gr.3)

* Avisto (O'Leary Stakes-LR & Soliloquy Stakes-LR)

* Diamond Valores (2nd Gloaming Stakes-Gr.3)

* Longchamp (3rd Hawkes Bay Guineas-Gr.2)

* Midnitemagicman (2nd Great Norther Foal Stakes-LR)

For the record, Tavistock has had only four runners in Australia to date.  Not only have Diamond Valores and Imperial Lass been successful, but both have now chalked up black type placings this season.

Peter Moody found Imperial Lass in Cambridge Stud's 2013 Karaka Premier Sale consignment and went to $125,000 to secure the filly.
