New Stakes Winner For Keeper

Cox Plate day in Melbourne has brought a new stakes winner for very promising Cambridge Stud sire Keeper.

Millbank (Keeper x Woodini) won the A$126,000 Group Three Wonderful World Stakes (1200m). Millbank is owned by Melbourne Crown Casino owner Lloyd Williams.


Millbank reached the lead inside the final 100m of the race and went on to win in fine style by one length over Gold In Dubai.


He started favourite on the strength of a resounding four-length win at Cranbourne at his most recent race-day appearance.


Millbank was bred in New Zealand by W H Holdings Ltd.


A winner of three races to date,
Millbank has become the seventh individual stakes winner sired by Keeper, a Group 1 winning son of Danehill.


Last season Keeper sired the Group 1 winnes, Insouciant and Keepa Cruisin. Keeper now has 14 stakes-performed horses.


In New Zealand, Keeper was also to the fore at the Auckland Racing Club's meeting at Ellerslie as the sire of the Keeper Coming who won over 2400m in the Speight's Stayers Rating 80.


Keeper is the sire of 85 individual winners to date.
