Niffler completed a winning double for us at Wyong this afternoon when she impressively kept her unbeaten record intact with a hollow victory.

Following on from Bedford Square’s earlier success, the Chris Waller-trained Niffler struck again over 1350 metres for our late and deeply missed stallion Tavistock when she resumed following a seven-month break.

Successful at her first appearance at Kembla Grange, the patiently handled four-year-old sat in fifth spot and once into the clear she quickly put her rivals to the sword to sail home by a length and a-half.

“It was only her second start and she still does a few things wrong. When I was doing my form and looked at the family, I knew she would handle the wet track,” winning rider Lee Magorrian said.

“All the staff have done a great job with her and she’s a mare that wants a mile and will definitely go to Saturday grade.”

Niffler was a $200,000 Karaka purchase for Debbie Kepitis’ Woppitt Bloodstock and is a daughter of the G3 Desert Gold Stakes winner Glamorous Girl, whose seven foals to race have all been successful.

A half-sister to the stakes winner So Elusive and a pedigree page that also features the G3 Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes winner Geeza, Glamorous Girl has a Tavistock juvenile colt, an Eminent yearling filly and visited Embellish this year.
