15 Oct 2009

After producing nine fillies in a row Tricia Ann has finally foaled a colt.  The lightly raced Zabeel mare, now 16 years old foaled a bay colt by One Cool Cat this morning at Cambridge Stud .

With just eight starts to her credit, Tricia Ann won two and was placed third in the Group 2 ARC Championship Stakes in 1997.  Her biggest claim to fame comes though as the dam of multiple Group winner La Sizeranne  (Stravinsky).  Winner of the Group 2 Qld Tatt's RC Winter Stakes and two Group 3 races La Sizeranne, bred by Sir Patrick and Justine Lady Hogan and Mr Arthur Kelly, was sold through the Cambridge Stud draft at the 2003 Inglis Easter Yearling Sales in Sydney for $250,000.

With five foals to the races, Tricia Ann has had four winners, which also include Sweetness 'N Light (Entrepreneur), Napa Sky (Stravinsky) and Anna Joy (Keeper) .   Anna Joy foaled a bay colt by Red Ransom at Cambridge Stud in September.

Tricia Ann's dam My Tricia (Hermes - Gay Poss) was the dam of twelve foals to race with eleven winners which included the outstanding sire Grosvenor (Sir Tristram), National Gallery  (Sir Tristram),  Kyrie Eleison (Sir Tristram) and My Marseillaise (Marceau).

Tricia Ann's 2006 filly by One Cool Cat sold at this years NZ Bloodstock National Yearling Sales for $640,000 to Queensland's Patinack Farm.
