Well-related mare Our Tristabelle proved she was no one trick pony at Ruakaka with a dominant winning performance.

Our homebred daughter of the late Tavistock had posted all four of her previous successes on heavy going and she handled a Good 4 surface with aplomb to thump her Rating 75 rivals over 1600 metres.

Trained by Peter and Dawn Williams, Our Tristabelle was ridden by Warren Kennedy and any pre-race concerns about the grey’s ability to win on top of the ground were dispelled in style.

“She has been going really well on the wet tracks, so I just wanted to get her relaxed in the run,” Kennedy said.

He carried that plan out to perfection with Our Tristabelle lobbing along three back on the fence before angling off the rail before the turn and she let down strongly under topweight of 59.5kg to romp home by two and a-half lengths.

She was purchased out of our draft at the 2020 New Zealand Bloodstock National Yearling Sale draft by Ashley Collins' Platinum Thoroughbreds for $45,000.

Her dam Keep Alight has done a fine job at stud with all eight of her foals to race successful and includes the Australian stakes winner She's Alight and Listed performer Midnitemagicman-Little Island (HK).

A daughter of the G1 Australasian and South Australian Oaks winner Our Tristalight, Keep Alight is a half-sister to the G1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas winner and sire Danske and delivered a filly by Embellish last season.
