Dual Group 1 winner and outstanding broodmare
Our Tristalight died at Cambridge Stud this week.

Sir Patrick Hogan, owner of Cambridge Stud, said Our Tristalight died naturally in her paddock on Thursday. She was 20 years old and not in foal.

"She has been a highly successful member of the Cambridge Stud broodmare band for a number of years and has produced some very good foals," Sir Patrick said.

Our Tristalight (Sir Tristam x Tudor Light) was a multiple Group 1 winner during a fine racing career which netted six wins. She was the top filly on the 1991/92 New Zealand 2yo Free Handicap and joint third top filly on the 1992/93 Australasian 3yo Classifications.

She won six races with these successes including two Group 1 events - the Australasian Oaks and South Australian Oaks in Adelaide. She also won the Group 2 Matamata Breeders Stakes.

Her progeny included Danske (by Danehill) who won the Group 1 New Zealand Two Thousand Guineas.

Danske has been among the leading bracket of sires in New Zealand in recent seasons.

Our Tristalight also left the dual Listed winner Eagle Rhythm (by Rhythm) who won the Listed Cranbourne Cup and Listed Victoria Gold Cup.

In addition she produced five other individual winners during her career at stud

Her latest yearling, a colt by One Cool Cat, was sold at Karaka last January for $75,000 to retired trainer Trevor McKee.
