In winning the Adapt Australia Handicap (1600m) at Moonee Valley in Melbourne yesterday, Precedence took his career earnings to A$1,010,320.

The powerful-looking son of Zabeel has won 7 races including success at Gr.2, Gr.3 & LR level.  His last win before yesterday was his best result, the 2010 Moonee Valley Gold Cup-Gr.2 on Cox Plate Day.

Raced by Dato Tan Chin Nam, The Dowager Duchess of Bedford, Berri Schroder and Sir Patrick Hogan, Precedence might now be readied for next month’s A$2.5m Caulfield Cup-Gr.1 (2400m).

Precedence (Zabeel ex Kowtow, by Shadeed) is closely related to Cambridge Stud’s young stallion Tavistock, with their respective dams both being from the High Line mare Pedestal.  She, in turn, is a half-sister to the Japan Cup winner Jupiter Island.
