Highly rated Cambridge Stud filly Probabeel delivered on her $1.40 pre-race favouritism with a runaway win at Ellerslie today.

The Jamie Richards-trained Savabeel 2YO was having her second start and after putting paid to the field at the 150m mark, pulled clear in the hands of Opie Bosson to score by 4.5 lengths.

Probabeel was purchased from Waikato Stud’s 2018 NZB Book One draft for $380,000 by Te Akau Racing’s David Ellis.

The purse from today’s win combined with her debut effort for second will provide a crucial contribution towards making the field for January’s Karaka Million.

“She’ll head for a break now and then we’ll follow a similar path to Melody Belle and Avantage, by giving her another start at Ellerslie a fortnight before the 2019 Karaka Million,” said trainer, Jamie Richards.

"She's not a natural two-year-old and will be even better at three, but what she's doing at this age, she's doing on class."
