Here To Shock capped impressive progression this preparation with an impressive victory in the Listed Golden Mile at Bendigo.

The Cambridge Stud-sold five-year-old capped a hat-trick of wins following 1400 metres successes at Sandown and in the Echuca Cup before posting his first victory at 1600 metres.

The Ben and JD Hayes-trained son of Shocking was tardily away before picking up ground along the fence for rider Daniel Stackhouse.

They were short of room into the straight, but when a gap presented itself 200 metres from Here To Shock accelerated sharply to deliver his seventh win from 19 appearances.

“It’s a great thrill for the whole team. He was a touch slow, but Daniel got him in a great spot and the luck when he needed it,” stable representative Dom Rhoden said.

“There isn’t a great deal left for the horse now so it might be the time to reset for the spring.”

We offered Here To Shock on behalf of breeders The Sunlight Trust at Karaka where he was purchased by Victoria’s Slade Bloodstock for $70,000.

He is a son of Shocking and the Lonhro mare Frescoes, who is a three-quarter sister to the G1 Patinack Classic winner Mental.
