Our daughter of Hinchinbrook had successfully resumed at Taupo in late December and showed her appreciation of well-spaced outings with further success.
The three-year-old is prepared by Lance Noble and was ridden by Leith Innes, also the main protagonists behind stablemate Marchand’s recent victory at Ellerslie.
Beldarra was caught wide early before settling one off the rail near the pace before she produced a relentless finish in the closing 150 metres.
The filly looked a smart prospect last season with placings in the Gr.2 Matamata Breeders’ Stakes and the Listed Waikato Equine Veterinary Stakes and, in her current form, further black type honours lie in wait.
We purchased Beldarra out of Little Avondale Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale draft for $115,000.
She is a daughter of the winning Sebring mare Inside Line, who is a sister to the stakes winner Come Fly With Me. By More Than Ready, she is the dam of the multiple winner and Listed placegetter Sizzling.
