Congratulations to Go Racing on Miss Ella’s runaway victory at Rotorua this afternoon and a performance that provided ample proof that she has the talent to quickly progress through the grades.

Albert Bosma’s syndication company purchased the well-related filly out of our 2020 draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale.

The daughter of Iffraaj had placed in two of her previous three appearances so it was a thoroughly deserved success for the Stephen Marsh-trained representative.

Miss Ella purred along in front and when jockey Danielle Johnson asked her to lengthen stride at the top of the straight, the three-year-old responded in electric fashion. She streaked clear to score by nine and three-quarter lengths.

Nominated for both the G1 Levin Classic and the G1 New Zealand Oaks, Miss Ella was a $240,000 Karaka graduate and is out of the G1 Queensland Oaks runner-up Zenella who produced an Almanzor filly this year and is back in foal to the same sire.

Zenella’s dam Diamond Like was a stakes winner and Group 1 performer and a sister to the G1 VRC Derby winner Viking Ruler. It is a deep pedigree that also features the G1 Rosehill Guineas winner De Beers.
