First-starter Unition has added to the already heavily decorated family honours board of young Cambridge Stud stallion Embellish.
The regally-bred two-year-old won the Listed Fasttrack Stakes on debut at Pukekohe this afternoon.
Unition is a son of the Sabaveel mare Diademe, who is a sister to the Gr.1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas winner Embellish.
Diademe was herself a top-quality mare, winning the Gr.1 New Zealand Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes.
She was subsequently sold to the China Horse Club for AU$1.7 million at the Magic Millions National Broodmare Sale.
Her first foal is the winner and Gr.2 Sandown Guineas runner-up Conqueror, a $1 million Karaka yearling.
Embellish’s family also features the dual Group One winner Sacred Star and recent Geelong Classic placegetter Relucent.
