Tralee Rose is unbeaten this preparation and trainer Symon Wilde believes the best is yet to come from the Tavistock mare.
Off the back of a resuming win at at Warrnambool, the four-year-old struck again on Oaks day at Flemington this afternoon.
“It’s a fantastic thrill and I really think she’s got a bright future,” Wilde said of the Cambridge Stud graduate.
“We’ve taken our time with her as she’s been a late-maturing type of horse. I'm excited about her.”
Tralee Rose settled midfield one off the fence under Kerrin McEvoy and came with a well-timed finish to score over 1700 metres.
“She popped out and traveled well and then hit a flat spot before she picked up very well in the last furlong and a-half,” McEvoy said.
Tralee Rose was a $50,000 Karaka purchase with Wilde and Cameron Cooke Bloodstock signing the ticket.
She is a daughter of the multiple winner and stakes performer Star Of Tralee, who is by Zabeel.
The dam, who produced a Russian Revolution colt this season, is a half-sister to three-time Group 1 winner Serenade Rose.
