Rule The Day (Viking Ruler x Day Tripper) returned to winning form with a vengeance when he won the Jane Bennett's Hydrotherapy Centre 1600 at Thursday's Matamata meeting.
Rule The Day got home by one-and-three-quarter lengths in the hands of promising apprentice Buddy Lammas.
The successful trainers are Murray and Bjorn Baker who have had a very successful season.
It was the second race-day win for Rule The Day whose previous win was also over 1600m. The four-year-old demonstrates a lot of promise and looks to have a nice future ahead of him.
Second and third home were Matronic and Insignificant.
