Yesterday’s Opunake Cup-LR (1400m) success was the second stakes race won this season by Sacha (Keeper ex Viva Romance, by Machiavellian).

The Lisa Latta-trained mare also won the Rangitikei Gold Cup-LR (1600m) in May.  Sound and durable, Sacha is in her fifth season of racing and from 79 starts has won 13 races, been placed on 15 occasions and won prize money of $285,800.

Sacha is one of five individual black type winners sired by Keeper in New Zealand, this season alone, the others are Innovation, Deane Martin, Move Faster and Magic Belle.

Keeper is currently 5th on the New Zealand General Sires Premiership for Earnings; 2nd (to O’Reilly) for individual Winners (62) and 2nd (to O’Reilly) for Wins (91).
