Second winner for Tavistock

13 May 2014

Cambridge Stud's young Montjeu stallion Tavistock sired his second first-crop winner today when Amber Rayne took out a 1000m dash at Te Aroha.

Amber Rayne (ex Light Mozart, by Mozart) was having her fourth start, having been placed third at her first two runs before a close-up fifth at Ellersie on Easter Monday.

The win for her young sire comes hard off the back of Tavistock having sired a trial winner at yesterday's Te Awamutu fixture.  The trial winner was Storm Trooper (ex Shock, by Keeper), a gelding in the Jason Bridgman barn, who won a 850 metres heat in the hands of Matthew Cameron.

Meanwhile fellow Cambridge Stud stallion Keeper sired two trial winners yesterday, an unnamed three-year-old gelding from Join The Fun and an unnamed three-year-old filly from Boston Babe.
