Carrying the famous Cambridge Stud brand, Zabeel seven-year-old Packing Winner upset calculations at Hong Kong on Sunday night to win the Sha Tin Trophy (HK-3) over 1600 metres.
Packing Winner had not raced since the end of May and demonstrated brilliance to win the 1600 metres feature in a slick time of 1.34.67.
Packing Winner (Zabeel ex Musical Note, by Marscay) has now won 7 races from 24 starts in Hong Kong. Last year saw him land his biggest prize to date when taking out the Champions & Chater Cup (HK-1) over 2400 metres.
Packing Winner was bred by Swettenham Stud, but raised by Cambridge Stud and sold under their banner at the 2004 Karaka Premier Sale. The buyer was Dominion Bloodstock of Hong Kong for a price tag of $300,000.
