Sir Patrick Hogan sends a message to guests at todays yearling parade

An invited group of around 50 guests enjoyed a day in the sun today at Cambridge Stud, inspecting every one of the yearlings being offered by the farm at the upcoming New Zealand Bloodstock Karaka Sales Centre.

Sir Patrick Hogan pointed out to his guests that the 2012 consignment is unique in that every one of the foals born in 2010 will be offered at Karaka, with the exception of just a couple who have been injured along the way.

In the past Cambridge Stud has retained a number of its’ fillies, but that is not the case this year; every one will be available for purchase at Karaka.

“It’s a fantastic opportunity,” said Sir Patrick today.

“These fillies not only have the potential to be top-class racehorses, but have wonderful residual value to go to stud at the end of their racing careers,” he added.

Sir Patrick also pointed out to his guests the great number of yearlings in his consignment from Zabeel mares.

“Zabeel is a mile in front on both the Australian and New Zealand Broodmare Sire Premierships; he’s had an amazing season,” said Sir Patrick referring to the likes of Atlantic Jewel, Southern Speed and Planet Rock, all of which are Group One winners this season and from mares by Zabeel.
