Sir Patrick's 5 Group One races

Sir Patrick Hogan is enjoying a vintage year being the breeder or co-breeder of horses who have won 5 Group One races so far this season.

The horses concerned are

* Preferment (Zabeel ex Better Alternative, by Flying Spur) - The BMW-Gr.1, Australian Cup-Gr.1 & Turnbull Stakes-Gr.1

* Tarzino (Tavistock ex Zarzino, by Zabeel) - Victoria Derby-Gr.1 & Rosehill Guineas-Gr.1

Cambridge Stud's boss took great satisfaction in watching Preferment and Who Shot Thebarman go neck-and-neck in The BMW at Rosehill Gardens.

"I shared in the breeding of the winner and also bred the sire of Who Shot Thebarman (Yamanin Vital)," he said this morning.

He also cheered home Leebaz (Zabeel ex Polish Princess, by Polish Precendent) in the Easter Cup-Gr.3 at Caulfield.

"It's wonderful to see Zabeel having such a great season as both a sire and broodmare sire," Sir Patrick added.

Meanwhile Cambridge Stud's young gun sire Tavistock sired three winners - all from his first crop - over the Easter Weekend including Nymph Monte (ex Grove Nymph, by Grosvenor) who won the Masterton Cup (2050m) at Tauherenikau.  It was Nymph Monte's fifth success to date.

The other winners for Tavistock over the long weekend were Galaxy Miss (ex Kiss In Vain, by Vain) and Longchamp (ex Shot at the Title, by Danehill).
