25 Feb 2022Snapper drew further attention to a colt in our Inglis Melbourne Premier Yearling Sale draft with a dashing winning performance at Moonee Valley.
The Michael Moroney-trained son of Power made light of his 60kg to make all the running over 1200 metres and coasted home for rider Mark Zahra to score by 1.5l.
Snapper is a half-brother to our Almanzor youngster, who will be offered at Oaklands tomorrow as Lot 139 and they are out of the One Cool Cat mare Onlyarose, who was successful on four occasions.
There is speed and stamina in this pedigree as the dam is a half-sister to the G2 Concorde Handicap winner Taimana and to the mother of the Listed VRC St Leger winner and G1 Western Australian Derby runner-up Berlioz and the family of Australian Horse of the Year Verry Elleegant.
Onlyarose has also produced the stakes placed Fireglow and was served last year by Savabeel.
