Talented mare Snazzytavi added another string to her bow with her latest victory at Matamata.
Prepared for us on the course by Graham Richardson and Rogan Norvall, the Tavistock mare stepped up to 2000 metres for the first time and handled the rise in distance with aplomb.
Rider Warren Kennedy gave her plenty of time to settle into her rhythm at the back of the field.
He urged Snazzytavi forward across the top to corner widest and was too good after striding to the front 200 metres from home.
The four-year-old has now won four of her eight starts and also gained black type at her previous appearance at Tauherenikau when she overcame a slow start to finish third in the Listed Wairarapa Breeders’ Stakes.
Snazzytavi was bred by Gordon Cunningham's Suncroft Bloodstock out of the Zabeel mare Ritzy Lady, who won six races and showed her staying talent with success in the Listed New Zealand St Leger and finished runner-up in the G2 Counties Cup.
