Snitzel mare too classy

We were delighted to see our well-related mare Eau De Vie make short work of her rivals at Wyong.

The daughter of Snitzel had finished runner-up for trainers Richard and Will Freedman when resuming at her previous appearance and she had no trouble going one better over 1350 metres.

The four-year-old was given a good ride by Alysha Collett and settled in the trail before she was off the rail across the top.

They were in front before the turn and surged clear to take her record to a brace of wins and five placings from 10 appearances.

We purchased Eau De Vie out of breeder Arrowfield Stud’s consignment at the Inglis Australian Easter Yearling Sale for A$400,000.

She is a daughter of the Listed Laelia Stakes winner C’Est Beau La Vie, a half-sister to the dual Group 3 winner and G1 Hong Kong Cup sprint runner-up Jolly Wonder and to the Listed Redoute’s Choice Stakes winner Wales.

Also featuring on the pedigree page is the two-time Australian Horse of the Year, historic three-time G1 Melbourne Cup heroine and G1 Cox Plate winner Makybe Diva.
