Stravinsky filly, Satinka, has climbed to within 2 points of current leader of the NZ Bloodstock Filly of the Year, Insouciant (Keeper-Loudenne).
The smart 3 yr old Satinka earned further points yesterday when she showed a great turn of foot to win the Group 2 New Zealand Bloodstock Royal Stakes at Ellerslie.
Held up initially and having to thread her way through the field Satinka displayed great courage in her flying finish.
Satinka has now won three Group 2 races.
Keepa Cruisin (Keeper-Just Cruising) was declared a late scratching at the barrier.
Viking Ruler filly, Pretty Vegas (Straight Show) finished in 6th place.
