Stravinsky Gelding Wins Group One Stradbroke Handicap

Stravinsky 6 yr old gelding Mr Baritone fought hard to win the  Group One $1,000,000 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap  at Eagle Farm yesterday.  18-year-old apprentice jockey Sebastian Murphy gave  longshot Mr Baritone the ride of his life  winning by a head in front of Hard to Catch with Double Dare back in third place.


Trained by Michael Moroney, Mr Baritone is ouf the Sanglamore mare Tunisia.  Before yesterday's win Mr Baritone had won nearly $350,000 with seven wins from 31 starts.


Unfortunately, shuttle stallion Stravinsky is unable to return to Cambridge Stud for the 2008 season due to quarantine regulations. Sir Patrick Hogan said they will be doing all they can to ensure the proven outstanding stallion returns for 2009.
