Strong start to Premier Sale27 Feb 2022

An Almanzor colt with an international pedigree provided our headline act on the opening day of the Inglis Premier Yearling Sale in Melbourne.

Offered as Lot 169, he filled the eye of successful Cambridge trainer Tony Pike, who parted with A$330,000 to secure the youngster.

He is a son of Street Cry’s daughter Prose Poem, who delivered a filly last year by Pierata and her first foal by Lawman is European placegetter Lenox Hill. The dam is also a sister to the multiple English stakes winner Fencing.

It is a pedigree that further boasts the presence of the two-time French Group 1 winner and sire Lawman and international Group winners Satri and The Black Princess.

Another highlight for Almanzor on the first day at Oaklands was Lot 15, a daughter of King's Violet that sold to Tony Ottobre for $280,000.

Bred by longtime Camrbridge Stud supporter Dr. Gene Tsoi the filly was consigned by Maluka Thoroughbreds and is out of a half-sister to Tsoi's Gr.1 winner King's Rose.
