Stud graduate makes flying start at Bendigo22 Feb 2021

Ellmaknifiko made a dream start to his career at Bendigo this afternoon with a clear-cut victory over 1400 metres.

The Cambridge Stud graduate was ridden by John Allen and coasted home by 3.75l under 59kg.

Ellmaknifico was bred by Graeme Rogerson and sold at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Sale for $75,000.

He was purchased by co-trainer Ciaron Maher, who races the Makfi 3-year-old with partners.

The gelding is the first foal of the unraced Fastnet Rock mare Elegant Achiever and produced an Embellish filly last year.

Elegant Achiever is a daughter of the English-bred mare Astonish, a daughter of Cape Cross who won twice.
She is a half-sister to the European Group winners Wunders Dream and Grecian Dancer.
