A son of Spirit Of Boom led the way for Cambridge Stud on Day Two of the National Yearling Sale at Karaka.

Presented as Lot 320, the colt was knocked down for $230,000 to NZB’s Danny Rolston on behalf of Hong Kong interests.

He is out of the Nicconi mare Conniving, who won three sprint races.

New Zealand Bloodstock’s International Manager John Cameron ensured Cambridge Stud's early momentum continued on Day Two.

He signed for back-to-back Tavistock youngsters on behalf of Sydney interests.

He went to $230,000 for Lot 225 for DGR Thoroughbred Services and secured the previous offering for $200,000 for DGR and trainer John Thomspon.

The higher-priced colt is a son of the Zabeel mare Ziffel, a half-sister to the G2 Silver Slipper S. winner Amelia’s Dream

Lot 224 is out of the unraced Zeranti, also by Zabeel and the dam of the talented The Irishman who was recently sold to Hong Kong interests.

Almanzor’s grey daughter, Lot 221, is headed to Te Akau after the powerful operation went to $220,000 to secure the filly.

She is a daughter of the Zabeel mare Zantelagh, a three-time winner and sister to stakes performer Bryannbo’s Gift.

They are out of the G1 Oakleigh Plate winner and G1 Newmarket H. winner Dantelah.

Cambridge Stud got away to a strong early start when agent Stuart Hale went to $200,000 for Lot 214.

The colt by Lonhro is out of the well-related winning Fastnet Rock mare Mind Games.

She is a half-sister to the dual group 1 winner Fiveandahalfstar and a sister to the Group 3 performer Wordplay.

Te Akau’s David Ellis landed a Savabeel colt for $170,000.
Offered as Lot 202, the youngster boasts a strong pedigree as a son of the Commands mare Vinorules.

She is a sister to the G2 Autumn Classic winner Vilanova and half-sister to G2 Sir Tristram Fillies’ Classic winner Vavasour.

Another half-sibling is Celebrity Dream, successful in the G3 La Trice Classic.

Cambridge Stud also made its presence felt in a buying role with the $230,000 purchase of Lot 222.

Offered by Lansdowne Stud, the filly is a daughter of Tavistock and the Zabeel mare Zarzino.

The youngster is therefore a sister to the multiple group 1 winner and sire Tarzino.
