Stud's in-form duo ready for Guineas test14 Nov 2019

Cambridge Stud is hoping to celebrate a classic anniversary in the best possible fashion at Riccarton tomorrow.
A decade ago, the premier farm’s representative Katie Lee was in history-making form.
She became the only winner of both the Gr.1 New Zealand 2000 Guineas and the Gr.1 1000 Guineas.
It is the latter feature that Cambridge Stud is hoping to make its mark this time around with two in-form contenders.
The Lance Noble-trained pair of Bavella and Avadane will go into battle for Brendan and Jo Lindsay.
“It’s great to have two fillies in form in a Group One race,” Noble said.
“This is what Brendan and Jo and Cambridge Stud strive for every year.
“They want their fillies to be competitive in Group races and then long-term enhance the broodmare.”
Bavella has finished a close runner-up in both of her Group Three lead-ups and the mile will be ideal for her.
Noble said she had enjoyed a trouble-free preparation and she was at the top of her game.
Avadane has won two of her six starts and the distance will also hold no fears for her.
Noble said the filly deserved her chance and would be even better for the whole Riccarton experience.
