Success For Viking Ruler At Sandown

Cambridge Stud sire
Viking Ruler (Danehill x Tristalove) enjoyed mid-week success at the Sandown race-meeting in Melbourne when four-year-old gelding Singing Sovereign scored in fine style in the Lowland Handicap (3000m).

The Peter Moody-trained gelding won handsomely by one-and-quarter lengths under a good hold by jockey Luke Nolen.

He was favourite for the staying race on the strength of some strong lead-up form.

It was the third win from only 10 starts for Singing Sovereign who has now won two of his last three starts. He has finished in the first three runners home on seven occasions.
