Pudding posted a sweet success in the Listed John Letts Cup over 1800 metres on his home turf at Morphettville.

He earned further posthumous stakes honours for our late stallion Tavistock when the well-named son of Christmas Day came to the party to gain his first black type victory.

“He definitely deserved this win, he got held up in the Murray Bridge Cup (Listed) and this race worked out perfectly,” said Chantelle Jolly, who trains the five-year-old with father Richard.

Now an eight-time winner, Pudding was given a good run in fourth spot by Jake Toeroek and rounded off bravely in the straight.

“It was an exciting race and he’s just such a tough horse,” Jolly said.

“He just keeps getting better with age, early doors it took us a lot of work to get him relaxed and now he’s a super star for us.”

Bred by Fudong Niu, Pudding was bought out of Hallmark Stud’s draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale for $65,000 with his South Australian trainers signing the ticket.
