We were delighted to see Tavi With Me post an overdue success at Pukekohe Park.

The David Greene-trained daughter of Tavistock had previously placed on seven occasions, including a most recent third behind the subsequent G1 New Zealand Derby winner Asterix.

Tavi With Me settled midfield on the fence before rider Rahul Beemud angled off the rail at the top of the straight and they thundered down the outside for a deserved victory.

Bred by Sir Patrick and Lady Hogan, she is the first foal of the Redoute’s Choice mare Abidewithme, a gifted performer who won on nine occasions, including the G2 Travis Stakes and the G2 Tauranga Stakes and was a multiple Group 1 placegetter.

She is a half-sister to stakes winners Stockman and Miss Scarlatti with their dam the G2 Championship Stakes winner Crimson.

Abidewithme’s third foal sold to Te Akau for $100,000 at Karaka and is an unraced Almanzor juvenile named Kriminal while the mare’s Almanzor colt yearling sadly died.

She foaled a son of the Triple Crown winner Justify last season before visiting Lonhro.
