The well-related Tavisan furthered his record when successful on his home track at Caulfield this afternoon.
Bred by The Sunlight Trust, the four-year-old won for the fifth time in his career when he triumphed over 1100 metres.
He has proved a fine servant for trainers Mick Price and Michael Kent Jnr and is also a multiple stakes placegetter.
A son of the late Tavistock, he was a $135,000 Karaka yearling and is out of Volksraad mare Evanescence.
Evanescence hails from the family of the Gr.3 Stewards’ Handicap winner Reilly Lincoln and produced a full brother to Tavisan last spring.
Tavisan was part of a Saturday winning double in Victoria for Tavistock and the Price/Kent training combination.
Earlier in the day Holburt was a dominant 2.75 length winner at Bendigo, notching up his third career win.
Bred by Nearco Stud, Holburt is also out of a daughter of Volksraad.
