The rise-and-rise of Cambridge Stud's second season horse Tavistock (Montjeu) could get a further boost on Saturday with the young stallion having favoured contenders in both the Soliloquy Stakes-LR (1400m) and Bonecrusher Stakes-Gr.3 (1400m).

Tavisock's key flag-bearer to date, the filly Avisto (ex Miraculous Miss, by Exceed and Excel) will be looking to make it three straight black type wins when she steps out as the likely favourite in the Soliloquy Stakes for fillies.

The Roger James-trained filly won the Great Northern Foal Stakes-LR (1400m) on the track in Ellerslie last season at two before getting her three-year-old campaign off to the best-possible start with success in the O'Leary Stakes-LR (1200m) at Wanganui, 06 September.

Already second-equal favourite for the 1000 Guineas, Avisto will again be ridden by Noel Harris who has a record of two rides for two wins on the first-crop Tavistock filly.

One race later Tavistock will be represented by Volkstok'n'barrell (ex Volkster, by Volksraad) in the Gr.3 Bonecrusher Stakes.

Trained by Dean and Donna Logan at Ruakaka, the three-year-old was super-impressive in winning a maiden on his home track, 13 September.  He lead, was taken on in front but kicked clear at the top of the straight and won with plenty in hand.

For the record, Tavistock will also be represented by the winning filly Amber Rayne (ex Light Mozart, by Mozart) in the Soliloquy Stakes.
