Con Speranza has proved a genuine performer in Singapore for the Big Valley Stable under the guidance of trainer Hideyuki Takaoka.

The Cambridge Stud graduate was successful at Kranji in his most recent appearance to double his winning tally and has only once finished out of the money in 10 appearances.

Con Speranza posted his last victory over 1600 metres in the hands of jockey Marc Lerner and looks more than capable of adding to his tally this preparation.

By the late Tavistock and a brother to last-start Gold Coast winner Strongbow, he was purchased out of our draft at New Zealand Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale in 2019 for $130,000 by Mr Masa Otani.

He is a son of the unraced Encosta De Lago mare Spring Venture, who produced a filly by resident sire Embellish in 2020.

Spring Venture is a daughter of the G2 Waikato Gold Cup winner Lovetrista and a three-quarter sister to the G1 Spring Champion Stakes winner and sire Viking Ruler.

The second dam Tristalove was a two-time Group 1 winner and further black type form has been added to the family roll of honour by the G2 Lowland Stakes winner and joint NZB Filly of the Year Queen Of Diamonds.
