Muzzleflash is a lightly-tried five-year-old with a tidy record that Group One-winning trainer Greg Eurell believes he can only improve on.

The son of Tavistock won for the second time in three starts when successful this afternoon on his home track at Cranbourne.

“He’s very genuine and the breed is going really well. He really enjoyed the good surface out there,” Eurell said.

Muzzleflash was a debut winner during the winter at Geelong, but was out of the money on his return there a fortnight later.

“I’m glad he’s bounced back because he’s always showed ability,” Eurell said.

Rider Ben Melham settled Muzzleflash behind the pace and when the split came in the straight the gelding was willing to put the issue beyond doubt.
Bred by Sir Peter Vela’s Pencarrow Stud, he is a $120,000 NZB Ready to Rule Sale graduate.

Muzzleflash is out of the Night Shift mare Macchiato and is a half-brother to the Listed Oaklands Plate winner Harb.

The headline acts in the pedigree are the multiple Group One winners Naturalism and Star Dancer.
