Avisto (Tavistock ex Miraculous Miss, by Exceed and Excel) made it back-to-back Listed Race victories when scoring an impressive fresh-up win in yesterday's O'Leary's Fillies Stakes (1200m) at Wanganui.

From the first crop of Cambridge Stud's Montjeu horse Tavistock, Avisto has now won two races and both have been at Listed Race level.

At two, from the stable of John Sargent and Hayden Allen, she won the Great Northern Foal Stakes (1400m) before being put aside.

Now trained by Roger James - with John Sargent having closed his NZ operation - Avisto was presented in magnificent order for a return to the racetrack and finished stoutly after racing in third position till the home turn.

Avisto was bred by Nearco Stud Ltd and is raced by the Challenge No.2 Syndicate.

Syndicate Manager, Adrian Clark, said he will have a meeting with Roger James this week, but Avisto's next start is likely to be the Listed Soliloquy Stakes-LR (1400m) at Ellerslie in three weeks time.

"We haven't looked any further than that, though she is nominated for the 1000 Guineas,"added Clark.
