Tavistock filly impresses on debut2 Nov 2021

A Group 1 pedigree was to the fore on the Te Rapa undercard this afternoon when the covers came off the debutante Just Dance.

The three-year-old daughter of Tavistock won her lead-up trial and delivered another professional display for rider Vinnie Colgan.

She settled back in the body of the field and angled into the clear 300 metres from home to then come with an irresistible finish for victory at the first time of asking.

A first foal, Just Dance is trained on the course by David Greene who also prepared the filly’s talented mother Stolen Dance for the majority of her career.

By Alamosa, she won 10 races with her career highlight a victory in the G1 Thorndon Mile and she also placed at the top level in the Zabeel Classic, Herbie Dyke Stakes and the Thorndon.

Just Dance was bred Dane and Jenna McLeod, who remain in the ownership group.
