Progressive filly Contrition added performance to an impressive pedigree with early success this afternoon at Kyneton.
The daughter of Tavistock struck a winning blow at just the second time of asking.
She had finished runner-up on debut and relished the step up to 1850 metres to win by a distance.
The three-year-old is trained by Mick Price and Michael Kent junior and was ably handled by Michael Dee.
Contrition was bought by Price for $35,000 out of Cambridge Stud’s 2018 draft to Karaka and is a daughter of Repenting.
The dam is out of a half-sister to the multiple Group One winner Shez Sinsational.
It’s also the family of the top-flight winner Brutus and the black type winner Shinnecock.
