Hiflyer will make at least one more appearance before he is packed off for his winter holiday.

Trainer Peter Lock said the exciting son of Tavistock will head south later this week for the Wellington meeting and his performance there will decide if he has another outing this preparation.

"It's a bit weather dependant, but at this stage he will run in the open mile at Trentham and Johnathan Parkes will ride him," Lock said.

"If he goes well and, depending what Johnathan has to say, we might look at the Easter Stakes. It's a Group Two and he's not ideally-suited by the set weights and penalties, but we'll have a think about it.

"He would go to the paddock after that and it could be that he goes out after Saturday and then come back for the spring. He's coming to the end of it so we'll see how he comes through Wellington first."

Hiflyer has won four of his 12 starts and last time out at Te Rapa he demolished his Rating 85 rivals by six and a half lengths.
