Star 3YO Volkstok'n'barrell has firmed to a $3 favourite for the $750,000 TV3 New Zealand Derby-Gr.1 (2400m) following his latest win in Group Two company at Ellerslie on New Year's Day.
Volkstok'n'barrell got to the front early in the straight in the Great Northern Guineas (1600m) and never looked like surrendering to the opposition. It was his fourth straight victory with the last three having all been recorded at Ellerslie, the venue for the NZ Derby next month.
